It All Started With a "Geek"

The dot-com boom was just beginning, and the “World Wide Web” was a new frontier full of promise and short on people who knew how to navigate it. One man saw the opportunity where others saw uncertainty.

The Spark

Jack Bader, a technologist by trade, saw the web was about to change everything. He left his job to help businesses navigate the online era and launched NetEffects from his home office. Armed with only a landline, a dial-up connection, and determination, he built the business one cold call at a time.

Finding the Purple Squirrel

That first yes came from a company in Minnesota, NetEffects' very first client and consultant placement. Word spread fast about Jack's talent for finding "the purple squirrel": hard-to-find, highly specialized talent nobody else could source, earning the trust of clients looking for exceptional expertise.

A New Look, A Broader Mission(2014 )

NetEffects rebranded with a new look, new energy, and an expanded suite of services to match how far the company and the industry had come, meeting the evolving needs of clients nationwide.

NetEffects has evolved from a single technologist working the phones into a full team of talent and technology experts. But our Founding Geek, Jack, is still actively involved and still, unsurprisingly, spending his time on the internet.

With extensive experience in the professional service industry and IT consulting, Brad first cut his teeth as a billable consultant for one of the nation’s largest firms and earned several promotions during his 15-year tenure there. As our Client Services Business Leader, Brad is the go-to guy for our recruiting and  client relationship team who manage the needs of our clients and in-field consultants.

During his time at neteffects, Brad has played a key role in expanding our capabilities to include professional services in our recruiting practice and has opened the door for many new client relationships, including businesses in emerging technologies driving demand amongst top tech talent.

Joining neteffects in 1997 with a strong background in talent acquisition and sales, Steph has grown neteffects from a small company to a leading industry provider. With a focus on sales and operations management, she works closely with our Business Leaders and Client Relationship Managers to ensure we are delivering to our clients the most competitive offering that reaches their business objectives and goals

In addition to providing executive leadership, Steph also directs our People Capital Consulting service in our Business Process Solutions division. As a certified Human Capital Strategist, she drives this value-added service vertical, working with our clients as they align their business strategy to their people capital needs. She continues to grow and diversify the neteffects’ business with the development and implementation of new services, including the recently launched FORCE–which provides flexible outsourced recruiting options on demand.

  • Tera is a true geek at heart–investing her time outside of work in the occasional MacGyver activity or a medieval battle for Arnor, part of the Belegrath, in the Midwest.

Tera joined neteffects in 2015 with over 15+ years of experience in technology recruiting and sales, working with enterprise and emerging market clients across a variety of industries and verticals–most notably those in the finance, communications, & biotech industries.

With a focus on recruiting & operations, Tera works cross-functionally with our talent acquisition, account service, & consultant teams to deliver the best possible customer experience for our clients. In her current role, Tera serves as a Director of Recruiting.

For over 15 years, Amy has called neteffects her “second home”–bringing over 20 years of experience to the business as a technology recruiter & delivery manager. In her current role as Director of Recruiting at neteffects, Amy serves as a leader to our growing team of talent acquisition professionals, focusing on management & operations.

A key part of our team, Amy’s passion for her work can be seen in the performance & commitment of the people she’s trained over the years–many of whom have been with us for 5, 10, or more years themselves.
